Drainage Pipe Hotel

A twist to an old Elvis song came to mind when I saw this.....

dasparkhoteldasparkhotel

*~*Well, since my baby left me,
I found a new place to dwell.
Its down at the end of lonely street
At DRAINAGE PIPE hotel.*~*

Aren't these wild?!?! This is the Daspark Hotel next to the Danube River in Germany.
The ultra-modern rooms are redesigned, fashionable drainage pipes. The room comes complete with room for two, a lamp and skylight. I'm not sure what to make of them. I mean they look roomy enough. I guess I would stay in one if I didn't have any kids with me and the weather was going to be comfortable. The only drawback for me is that there's no in-room toilets or showers. I guess you'd have to take a walk for those luxuries. But it's definitely affordable with its "pay as you wish" price. Still, it reminds me of something a homeless person would sleep in though. I'm not sure if I would feel safe at night in one.
Great idea though.

  1. Of course it's possible to be abnormal and normal at the same time: I'm glad you said it. In this age of medicalized abnormality it takes someone with a bit of wit and wisdom to cut through all the BS going around ...

I found your blog by hopping out of mine on that 'next blog' button ... I'm at gledwood2.blogspot.com, you're welcome to drop by. It's quite different though!!

    Best Wishes from

  2. Thanks for the wonderful comments, Gledwood! I appreciate it!
And I took at look at your blog. Man, you weren't kidding when you said it was different! I mean, I know about this stuff and I've know it's out there but I certainly haven't seen anyone blog about it firsthand. It hits you right square in the face. It's hard to read yet needs to be read to understand.
    Hang in there, dude!
    I wish you the best!

  3. You ar quite right, the "bums" use these to sleep in in citys like Manchester and London (England)

Oh, Christ, "Bum" here in the UK means what you in the USA call your "ass" SO does that mean that these things are full of "assholes?"

    The mind boggles.....

  5. Another thing I thought about after staring at the pics some more, is I'm not sure if I would feel comfortable with the door closed and the only way out or to see out would be that little hole. My slight sense of claustrophobia would get the best of me, I'm sure. There's no way I could escape from anything through that hole! What if I got stuck in the hole??

What if someone decides to play a little trick on me and do a little cow-tipping....drainage pipe style??

And what if someone blocks the door and I couldn't get out?? What then, huh??

Ok...I've just decided I couldn't stay in one of these rooms. No way at all...
